ALL ABOUT ME
My name is Amanda McKibbon and I am a 4th grade teacher at Two Springs Elementary School. I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. My dad was in the Air Force, so my family moved around frequently between Texas, Colorado, and Nebraska during my childhood. We finally settled in Bellevue, NE in 1991 when I was in 7th grade at Logan Middle School. I graduate from Bellevue West High School in 1997. I attended Wayne State College where I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I also have a minor in Earth Science. I was hired to work for Bellevue Public Schools in May 2001. My first job was at Wake Robin Elementary in 6th grade. I taught 6th grade for 3 years, then switched to 4th grade and have been teaching 4th grade ever since, with the exception of 1 year that I taught a 4th/5th combination class.I began working on my Master's Degree in Instructional Technology in 2003 and graduated from Peru State College in summer 2006. I transferred to Two Springs this year to be closer to home and to where my daughter stays during the day when I am at work. I am very happy to be a part of Two Springs!
I married my husband, Scott, in April 2005. He works for Central States Indemnity as a Support Team Supervisor. He has been there for 7 years. We got a cocker spaniel puppy shortly after we met in 2003. His name is Angel, which is a little silly for a boy! My husband is a huge Los Angeles Angels fan, and that's where the name came from. In August of 2010, we had a little girl named Violet Rose. She is the most wonderful part of our lives, and we feel so blessed to have her.
In my free time, I love to play with Violet and watch her discover the world around her! As a family, we love to take walks and watch movies. I also enjoy reading, shopping, spending time with family, and traveling.
